Bream put on a tremendous performance in the third section at the Regional contest on the 13th March in the Riveria Centre, Torquay to take 2nd place. Bream pull-out of GBBA Bream Band will not attend this years GBBA. The recent poor weather has meant a significant reduction in the number of available rehearsals prior to the contest.
Howard's Way for Bream Nigel Howard stepped in at the last minute to take Bream to fourth place at the 3rd section in the Leamington Spa contest on Sunday 22nd 2009. With resident MD Huw Cole incapacitated with suspected swine flu, Nigel took up the challenge and conducted the band on one rehearsal to come a very respectible 4th out of 7 bands. The band played Oceans and were placed behind a band that played the same piece to come third in the National Finals in October.
Many people outside of the band commented that they thought the result did not reflect the great performance that the band put on.
The band takes a great deal of confidence from this performance against stiff opposition and are looking to capitalise at the areas in March.
